- Lead a light interview when the request lacks seed terms, target market, pages, or competitors; ask only what materially improves research direction.
- Gather available query, page, competitor, and historical context without assuming missing live provider data.
- Inspect returned provider response-file paths before spending on repeated provider calls; call schema.get with schema_ref only when the response-file envelope schema is needed.
- Cluster opportunities by intent, page fit, difficulty, impact, and freshness.
- Produce a handoff that names evidence sources, raw data refs, gaps, and recommended next workflow steps.

- Use project-specific content taxonomy and editorial constraints when clustering opportunities.
- Preserve raw fetched data refs and cite them in the synthesized research output.
- Produce a meaningful keyword list with clusters, not a token sample of one or two terms.
- Record durable findings as resources/artifacts only when the active workflow grants it.
- Separate hypotheses from measured data and stale memory.
Must not do
- Do not invent search volume, ranking, or competitor facts without an approved source.
- Do not choose final content strategy when approval or editorial review is required.
- Do not use this generic preset before project adaptation.
